I’m currently doing some Linux training to sharpen my skills for Digital Forensics. For this, I’m using NDG's self-paced Linux Essentials course available at Cisco Networking Academy. It is available with hands-on labs and an Ubuntu VM, which you can access right in your browser.

During my preparation for Network+ and now for CCNA using Wireshark is an essential part of the process. Wireshark and Cisco Packet Tracer are must-haves for quality, hands-on learning. Capturing and filtering traffic is really what it’s all about.

This is a real game changer for learning IT. Thanks to VMs, I was able to better understand networking, explore Linux systems, experiment with Active Directory, and try out various cybersecurity tools.
